Sharing the Love:
Penick Village Foundation

Your tax-deductible gift will help make everything that’s great about Penick Village even better. You can contribute to one of these funds or designate your gift for programs you feel passionate about. We appreciate your generosity!

Benevolent Assistance Program:

The Benevolent Assistance Program ensures that no resident will be asked to leave Penick Village due to unforeseen circumstances. The Benevolent Assistance Program ensures that any resident who has outlived his/her financial resources through no fault of their own remains a part of Penick Village’s family.

The Van Camp Futrell Scholarship Program:

Cheryl S. Futrell had a career at Penick Village that spanned four decades. During that time, she advanced from working as a housekeeper to holding the first-ever Chief Operating Officer position. Upon her retirement in 2016, many contributions were made in her honor to form a non-endowed scholarship fund serving Penick employees, their children, and grandchildren.

In 2023, a Penick Village resident, Robert “Rip” Van Camp, made a very generous donation, which was matched by Penick, in order to establish an endowed scholarship fund. This fund allows Penick to continue offering scholarships to employees and their children and grandchildren for many years to come.

Combining the two funds into the Van Camp Futrell Scholarship Program allows Penick to do the most good for more employees.

Annual Art Show & Sale:

The most public-facing and beloved fundraising effort each year is the Annual Art Show & Sale. Each year, dozens of Penick Village residents, staff board members, friends, and local artists give their time, talent and treasure to make this event a success. 100% of proceeds go to the Benevolent Assistance Programs.

Thiede Fund:

Established in 2006 with an initial gift from an anonymous board member and supplemented by resident Mr. and Mrs. Henry Thiede and their son, Tom, the Thiede Fund is an emergency assistance and educational loan program for employees of Penick Village, managed by our Chaplain. In cooperation with a local thrift store, residents’ donated furniture and household items are exchanged for a commensurate donation to the Thiede Fund.

Penick Promise Partners & The Pat Auch Penick Promise Keepers Legacy Giving Circle:

Our most generous donors hold a special place in our hearts. Donors who give a cumulative yearly total of $1,000 or more to ANY fund are named Penick Promise Partners. Those who give $35,000 or more to the Benevolent Assistance Program belong to the Pat Auch Penick Promise Keepers legacy giving circle. All donors are honored annually with an event that recognizes their valued contributions to the Penick Village Foundation.

Endowment Fund:

Our Endowment Fund is an investment fund with available earnings for the provisions of Charity Care assistance, which includes the Benevolent Assistance Program. Funds are invested according to an investment plan approved by the Foundation’s Board of Trustees.
